Not my best idea ever...

Sitting in front of the common room fire with a Weasley jumper and a blanket wrapped around me and a heating charm and I am still freezing. It is apparently what one gets for going out on the broom in the middle of a freezing rain storm...In November.

I don't think I'll ever be properly warm again.

Still though. Got a bit accomplished tonight. I needed a good session out by myself and the cold and rain only makes me work harder so I can justify going in. Besides that, I needed a distraction from the mound of studying that had been staring at me. And I think I've a way for us to work out that play we were trying the other day at practice. We had the timing off is what it was. I'll explain it better on Monday, but at least I've got it figured now and we can work with it some more.

Still can't feel my toes or most of my face...hmmm.

Even later than Demelza with this, but I reckon it's better than never?

Write five facts about yourself:

1. I am only doing this to procrastinate on my Potions essay
2. I complain a lot a little about my brothers, but I do think they're all pretty brilliant except Perc- and I wouldn't trade 'em. Except Perc-
3. I have a fantastic boyfriend, even if I don't get to see him as much as I'd like.
4. Summer is my absolute favorite season and it's not because there isn't school and it isn't cause it's my birthday season. Just cause it's brilliant and I'm not such a fan of being cold.
5. I love my hair colour and wouldn't change it even if I did think that I'd be able to.

That was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be.

Quidditch has been kicking my arse this week. Being captain isn't quite as glamo Actually...the past two or three weeks if we're going to be honest. Still a few things to work out before the first match, but the team is coming together. It's going to be a brilliant season.

Hogsmeade coming up yea? Can't bloody wait. Nev-you think you can get off from your fancy-pants job to visit again?

Right...procrastination accomplished I think.

Ugh. The amount of homework that has been piled on in the past week is enough to make my back break. Honestly! I don't remember last year's seventh years carrying around this kind of load! One more essay on the history of the Goblin rebellion of 1523 and I think my brain will simply stop functioning in protest.

Only managed a few hours on the pitch this weekend cause of all the assignments, but I think if I can manage to finish the Potions essay before dinner tonight, that'll give me the rest of the evening and so that won't be so bad.

Despite the work it is rather nice to be back at the castle. It's still warm enough to stay out on the grounds in the afternoons and the Giant Squid is good company for doing homework outside.

Godric the Cup was absolutely brilliant! Better than brilliant. Words can hardly describe the match. Plus spending time with everyone was a blast. Best way to spend a birthday weekend ever, in my opinion. Speaking of, Cols and Andy? Now that I'm all of age and can apparate like a bloody professional, we're going into London and causing trouble. Mostly because Andy is Headboy (congratulations again) and won't be able to wreck havoc this term at school. Deal? Brilliant. Knew you'd be up for it.

School starts up again soon. We're already halfway through August and I'm wondering what the hell happened to the summer? The time seemed to bloody well fly by. This summer has been the best between working at the shop with the twins and then the cup. Plus without all the stress and anguish from LAST summer Things have been fantastic. I've been on my broom almost every day so I'll be in top form for Quidditch to start which is nice. Last year was a bloody nightmare. It had been nearly three months without seeing a broom and I paid for it at the start of the season.

I have to say I've got a few mixed feelings about the start of seventh year. NEWTs of course are nerve-wracking, but aside from that picking a career and all. Bloody hell. Not much looking forward to that. Plus without you lot who just left there it's going to be bloody strange. Ah well, still got two full weeks of summer left before it's back on the train for me, so I might as well enjoy it. And perhaps get started on that bit of summer work I've been assigned...hmmm.

Right. So Theodore Nott and his mother have been more than too kind and are willing to host a party for Neville's birthday on Saturday (the 28th) at their Manor. Party is set to start at 3pm but I'm planning on going over around 1 or 2 to set up and anyone who'd like to help (Andy, Colin, you've little choice in the matter, I'm dragging the both of you one way or another) is welcome to do just that. Megan? And anyone else who is able to for that matter? If you could and would like to, plants of any sort to help out the feeling of a jungle. The party will be in the garden of the grounds, but I figure a few extra plants isn't going to hurt anything. Unless of course I'm dead wrong and it will disrupt the enviornment or something. I'm rubbish at Herbology, so you lot will need to let me know.

Keep in mind that this is a SURPRISE party so keep your mouths and quills shut about it around him, please.

So it has come to my attention that Mr. Neville Longbottom thinks he's getting away with not having a birthday celebration this year. This is unacceptable considering how much he wants to spoil me and so I am planning something absurd to do for his birthday. I could use help and ideas!

Right. So apparently without having homework to be putting off I tend to forget about this thing lying around. Whoops. On top of that I've been a bit busy as of late. And speaking of which, you all should stop by WWW in Diagon sometime soon. Partly because my brothers are fantastic at their job, but mostly because I miss the lot of you.

Summer so far has been brills though. Between working at the shop and being at home I've been kept pretty busy. The orchard out behind the Burrow is all full and covered with leaves and the like again so it makes for a better obstical course for flying. Mum doesn't terribly enjoy that idea, but it's better for training I think. Antoinette and Porthos have taken to exploring the living room and I thought I nearly lost Porthos in the sofa, but he came out alright so.

Weather has been fairly ace for flying. Didn't even much mind the thunderstorm the other day. Except that mum absolutely refused to let me fly in it. Completely mental seeing as I fly in much worse weather up at school. That didn't go over particularly well at all with her and it took Dad several minutes to explain that there are all sorts of charms on the pitch that will keep me from getting too hurt while at school if I fall. Still, I thought I was going to have to pick the lock to the shed again just to get to my broom.

I have off from the shop on Friday so I was planning on going down into the Muggle village near here and doing a bit of exploring. Anyone up for it?

Life at the Burrow is not any different than last summer. Except with working at the shop I'm simply here less. Mum is happy to have us around the house and Dad is happy to have someone else to share his Muggle discoveries with. Plus, it's an added bonus that we keep Mum distracted while he tinkers with things in his shed. Just so long as he hasn't got another car in there, though, I don't think Mum would get too upset. She's been keeping us busy though. All sorts of chores to be done around and the like.

Degnoming yesterday was actually rather fun. Ron helped out and since he's of age and all he was having a great time charming them and blasting them out and all. I did get bit by one nasty little bugger, but I think I also broke Charlie's record for 'Furthest Throw of a Gnome Without the Use of Magic' afterwards so that makes up for it. By the time we were done though I was more exhausted than when I get home from working at the shop all day.

Speaking of working at the shop though, it's bloody brilliant so far. Really. It helps, of course, that I know most of the customers from school so there's usually a friendly face around. But the twins are loads of fun to work with and the shop has such a wonderful feel to it. All positive energy and the like. Oh and Antoinette and Porthos have come in with me to play with the other puffs in the shop. I am afraid, however, of spending my entire first paycheck on daydream charms. They are by far my favorite.

It's so close to summer I can practically feel it now. It's been glorious out the past few days so I've been spending a bit of time on the pitch just flying around. Not training much or anything, just enjoying being out there. It's been so warm that I can't really help but want to be out there. Especially with all the brilliant sunshine. I hope it keeps it up. Though, I'm sure my study habits could use a bit of rain just to force me inside.

Antoinette and Porthos have been restless lately, bouncing around their box like a bunch of nutters. I think when I get over to the shop, I'll see if the twins have any sort of toys or something fun for them so they can entertain themselves. This way they can stop using my parchment as a playground. Professor Lupin, I hope you don't mind a few Pygmypuff footprints on the margins of my essay?

Speaking of those two, I ought to go get them something to eat...

Happy Easter!

I'm rather sad I couldn't go home for Easter this year. It would've been brills to see Mum and Dad and all. But it was just for the long weekend and I've got homework piling up from the last two weeks now and I know that none of it would've gotten done if I'd been at the Burrow. Things tend to get a little hectic there and Merlin knows I wouldn't have been able to even pretend to concentrate.

On the bright side of things, the tower is significantly quieter and therefore I can sit in the commons to do work without worry. Not to mention it's warm enough outside to sit for a few hours without freezing your bum off. Which I might do in a bit. Anyone care to join me?

You know, I think it's all well and good that the third years are practicing their charms for their exams and all that rubbish. However, is it entirely necessary to do it in the commons rather where there are completely innocent bystanders trying to get their work done? I'd like to be able to work on my Defense essay without the fear of getting my hair charmed purple from a misfired wand. Or you know, having my quill suddenly fly out of my hand from a poorly excecuted summoning charm. There ought to be somewhere else they can go!

On a less complainy note, it was just about warm today! Merlin I love the spring!

So this "Just For Fun Quidditch Game"? How exactly d'you reckon they're going to do the teams like? You think we'll sub-in every few bits or will we make some sort of combined team involving a roughly equal number from each house? OR d'you think we'll have two seekers, two keepers, six chasers and four beaters to a team? Hmmmm....

The good thing about Hogsmeade this weekend is that the pitch should be relatively empty so I can get a bit of practicing in.
